In 2021, I was commissioned by rapper and producer Abstrakt to design the album art for his project, T.G.F.D. Conceptually, the album wove together themes of grief, persuasion, and the dualities of failure and success within the Black male youth experience. For this project, I was given access to the full body of work to inspire the visual direction. The final cover portrays the artist's persona in an interrupted moment of stillness. The core idea is best phrased as "catching a break"—or, viewed through another lens, "can't catch a break." The light behind and above the figure represents the allure of a successful life, a promise he must strive to reclaim.
